Our aim is not simply to sing worship songs on Sunday morning. We long to lead, disciple, and prepare the next generation of lead worshipers. We want to facilitate an environment where our church can engage the living God. We would love for you to be part of our team, either on stage or behind the scenes! Let us know below:

You may have noticed that we have access to more music now than ever before, and sometimes, it’s overwhelming to think about just how many songs we could pick from for worship together on Sunday mornings. That’s why we’ve started providing the set list and a Spotify playlist (updated weekly) to help you prepare your heart, mind, and voice to confidently sing with us as we make a big deal about Jesus together.

Kenyon Draughon

Associate Pastor Worship & Arts

    • Began June, 2012

    • B.M.E. – Samford University, 1983

    • M.M. – Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, 1987

    • Have served 13 churches (full-time and part-time) since 1979 in varying ways:

      • Youth pastor

      • Worship pastor

      • Executive pastor

  • Grabbing breakfast with my bride of 38 years, hanging with our sons (one with a beautiful bride and our grandson), and watching Bama football (or working in the yard).

  • BBQ chips and a coke zero (but what I REALLY want is a DQ Butterfinger Blizzard or anything from Chick-Fil-A)

  • I love that we are a people that is multi-generational, multi-cultural and welcoming. We are founded and grounded in doing the TWO (love God, love all people). I love that we are located three block from TTU and therefore have the opportunity to engage future generations with the love of our good, good God and the truth of the gospel of Jesus!

Jonny Hughes

Associate Worship & Arts

  • I started leading worship for college ministry at First Lubbock  in January of 2013, and I came on staff full time in May of 2016. I graduated from South Plains College with my Associate's Degree in Commercial Music in 2013, and I graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in 2015. I continue to be a student of The Word and enjoy learning from Bible scholars and Theologians as my faith is stretched by an ever humble-heart and hungry mind.

  • Playing music for an engaged audience with my band OR working around the house with my wife and our 3 golden retrievers.

  • buffalo blue cheese combos with a Tropical Vibe Celsius

  • I love our church because of the great intersection of skill and service within our fellowship. We are so fortunate to have so many people gifted in so many different ways with such generous hearts, ready to glorify Jesus with those talents at the place where there is need in the world.

James Moss

Director of Communications & Video Production

  • Member since 2010. On staff in the Worship and Arts Ministry since 2012.

  • My wife and I have a standing breakfast date every Saturday. Apart from that, relaxing at home if we’re in town, or catching a musical, symphony, opera, or soccer match if we’re travelling.

  • If I’m good: lightly salted cashews and a Smartwater. If I’m bad: Reese’s Sticks and a Dr. Pepper.

  • Everyone says “the people” because there is a lot of truth in it. I’m consistently challenged and learning new things both spiritually and professionally.

Stephanie King

Project Coordinator

  • Member for 22 years, employee since October 2022

  • Sleeping in, being on the water (swimming, beach, lake, whatever) and rounding out the day with junk food in front of a movie

  • Peanut Butter M&Ms and a short can of BBQ Pringles

  • I love how our church is just one big extended family. I know there are several people I could call in an emergency who wouldn’t hesitate to help. My church family is who I want to hang out with, laugh with, and do life with.
