PROJECT COORDINATOR
Tell us a bit about yourself. When did you come to First Lubbock?
My husband Brent and I joined First Lubbock in 2003. We have have three kids and enjoy traveling. I am a writer, and I have been a biologist and a teacher. I love getting to show students God through cool science.
What's your favorite place you've visited?
Standing at the edge of any seashore is always my favorite (unless the water is cold). Honduras is pretty great though. I've seen God move in miraculous ways there and zip lined over a waterfall.
Other than Jesus, what historical figure would you most like to meet?
Rosalind Franklin. She was the scientist responsible for isolating the double helix structure of DNA but passed away before Watson and Crick received Nobel Prizes for what was largely her work.
What are a few of your hobbies?
I am currently contracted for a sequel to my first novel, so writing is my main focus. When I'm not writing, I like to read, sew, and do outdoors-ish activities like gardening, sitting, and watching my turtles.
What do you love most about First Lubbock?
First Lubbock has been our family for almost 22 years. My very favorite thing is going on the youth mission trip every summer and working and playing with our teens and adult leaders.
What would you say to a guest to encourage them on their journey to finding a church home?
You don't have to clean up and fix your brokenness before you come to God. Find a church that accepts you and loves like family, builds you in your faith, and gives you opportunities to serve and be on mission.
